The renowned Russian news agency TASS organizes every year a highly significant ceremony, during which a selection of distinguished people are awarded the national special prize Prometheus. The Prometheus award is given for great accomplishments within the year in certain key sectors such as environmental, medical, business relations, telecommunications and many others.
On Monday 11th December 2017, our Senior and Managing Partner, Mr Stavros Pavlou was awarded the Prometheus prize in Moscow for his invaluable contribution towards the protection of Russian business interests in Cyprus. Mr Pavlou won the title “Supporting Russian Business abroad” and received the award by Mr Buvaisar Saitiev, acting State Duma Deputy, who congratulated Mr Pavlou for this significant achievement.
Journalists from Rossiyskaya Gazeta, a Russian government daily newspaper, interviewed Mr Pavlou, who stated that his close relations with Russia count more than twenty years. “Cyprus is one of the few EU states who openly opposed the anti-Russian sanctions. Cyprus retains its attractiveness to the Russian people and entrepreneurs are attracted by its stable legal and tax environment, the positive attitude towards foreign investors and a well-developed infrastructure, among other things” said Mr Pavlou.
